Public Telstra WiFi Hotspots To Launch: Report

Public Telstra WiFi Hotspots To Launch: ReportAn invitation went out to media this week indicating Telstra will make an “important announcement” tomorrow at the Sydney Museum of Contemporary Art.

Fairfax reports the ‘important announcement’ is a public WiFi system “that lets Telstra customers use broadband services in more locations.”
The service would be rolled out nationally, the report suggests.
Telstra has the country’s largest 4G LTE mobile network covering 85% of the population and definitely has the infrastructure prowess to pull this massive project off, which is said to cost “tens of millions” of dollars.
The move would certainly attract more users to its network, in a time the telco’s are fighting it out for customers, as data consumption escalates to new heights.
