Edifier Unveils New Ultra-Compact Bookshelf Speakers

Edifier are promising to “re-introduce” the bookshelf speaker with their new R1010BT speakers.

Essentially, the sell here is that the R1010BT is going to build on the legacy of the brand’s R1000TCN speaker and tick all the right boxes as an entry level product.

According to Edifier, “Quality and style go hand in hand with the R1010BT. The classic wood grain finish with contrasting silver-coloured panels makes an elegant addition to any home or office. Drawing on the classic speaker look the R1010BT would suit everyone from the music loving dad to the fussy hipster.”

The speakers come with a built-in amplifier and are able to source content via Bluetooth, RCA or 3.5mm AUX cable.

The company say the R1010BT’s 15mm thick MDF (medium-density fibreboard) enclosures “reduce unwanted, extraneous energy and vibration”

In addition, they say that the speaker’s “dome tweeters produce smooth, articulate highs with ceramic-paper cone drivers delivering powerful bass.”

All told, they look to be promising a package that offers decent performance for a reasonably low price.

The R1010BT speakers are available now through Scorptec, PLE, Wireless 1 and mWave at an RRP of $99.95.
