D-Link Supercharges Bandwidth With Wi-Fi 6 Modem/Router

D-Link has launched an AX1800 Wi-Fi 6 Modem Router capable of VDSL2 and ADSL2+ connection with VoIP, capable of providing Australia and New Zealand with universal DSL and NBN/UFB connectivity.

Named the DSL-X1852E, the new device is a combined modem and router in one, capable of reaching 1200Mbps on 5GHz and 574Mbps on the 2.4GHz band.

For wired devices, the new modem router boasts a dedicated Gigabit Ethernet WAN port as well as four Gigabit LAN ports. It also has dual FXS ports for telephone handsets with VoIP, and a USB port to connect an optional 3G/4G LTE USB Modem.

The DSL-X1852E is built for modern day to day living, as the home becomes a place increasingly dependent on smart devices. Wi-Fi 6 features Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) technology, transmitting small data packets for multiple devices together, increasing bandwidth as data no longer has to queue for access.

This is paired with MU-MIMO technology which smooths the simultaneous flow of data to multiple devices. Whilst with W-Fi 5, MU-MIMO only allowed for simultaneous downstream transmission, the latest technology allows for it to work both upstream and downstream, increasing capacity, coverage and performance in ultra-high-density environments.

D-Link has fitted the DSL-X1852E with the capacity to extend signal reach and deliver stronger connectivity over a longer distance thanks to high-gain antennas, power amplifiers and beamforming technology. BSS Colouring Technology also reduces signal interference from other Wi-Fi signals by assigning transmissions with a unique ‘colour’. This allows devices to accept or ignore data based on the expected colour.

With VPN’s becoming more and more commonly used as an everyday internet and security tool, the DSL-X1852E’s VPN wizard allows users to configure LAN-to-LAN and remote access VPN connections. The built-in passthrough feature also allows internally connected devices to establish outbound VPN connections.

The D-Link DSL-X1852E AX1800 Wi-Fi 6 VDSL2 /ADSL2+ Modem Router with VoIP is available now for $349.95 from the D-Link website and authorized D-Link retail partners.
