CES 2019: New LG XBOOM, Big Sound Gets Bigger

LG has expanded its XBOOM lineup showcasing new and more intelligent sound systems at CES 2019 built with social gatherings in mind that offer “explosive sound and party-optimized features” no matter the size of the shindig.

The updated XBOOM range includes new all-in-one units, mini components, portable Bluetooth speakers and AI ThinQ smart speakers.

“We are excited about the present and future of the LG XBOOM brand and will continue to strengthen our offerings and our position in the party-audio market” said Kim Dae-chul head of LG Home Entertainment Company’s audio and video business.

Two new party-going settings available on the XBOOM line include DJ Star — which offers DJ features including cross-fading and a “Party Accelerator” that aims to bring dancers to the floor — and Karaoke Star — which fades vocals in most audio tracks to allow listeners to perform for their party guests.

DJ Star is designed for users to play being a DJ and includes a crossfader feature, throttle control, flashing lights, and “Party Accelerator” it also works in conjunction with an easy-to-use DJ App (available for Android and iOS devices).

LG has also upgraded its Wireless Party Link to enable users to connect multiple speakers.

The new CL98 flagship XBOOM mini component claims an output of 3,500W plus a compression horn to produce crisp audio across higher frequencies.

The all-in-one unit OL100 delivers 2,000W output, with its exclusive Blast Horn which generates acoustic sound pressure via air being directed through a folded air duct and being amplified, so listeners can hear and feel sound.

The OL100 also features LG’s new Meridian Mode which LG made in collaboration with British audio company Meridian Audio. This sound setting claims to offer “clearer vocals and more responsive bass”.

The OL100 has “Grab & Move” handles and casters for easy transport and the XBOOM Freestyle Speakers (RK7 and RL4) have X-grip handles and can be orientated vertically or horizontally whatever the user prefers.
