CES 2018: Lenovo Cranks Up Notebook Range

Ahead of CES 2018 next week, Lenovo has unveiled a suite of new laptops featuring nifty privacy-conscious features, such as a built-in webcam cover.

As reports of hackers gaining access to users’ webcams continue to permeate the media, Lenovo’s new laptops are a welcome change for those who resort to manual methods (e.g. tape over their webcam lens).

Lenovo’s new laptops incorporate a ‘ThinkShutter’, which is an inbuilt security cover for the device’s webcam.

ThinkShutter can be moved to the slide for video chatting, and moved back again after use.

Lenovo’s new ThinkPad X280, plus three new T series laptops – the T480s, T480, and T580 feature the ‘ThinkShutter’ feature.

The new ThinkPad also features a USB-C charger.

Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg has previously revealed that he places a piece of his tape over his webcam camera, thereby proving the demand for Lenovo’s nifty privacy conscious innovation.
