BREAKING NEWS: Telstra Mobile Boss Dumped

Andrew Vollard the Director of Device Management & Operations at Telstra has seen his position at the carrier made redundant.

The move to dump Vollard follows a downturn in Telstra’s mobile business.

At this stage Telstra has not announced how their mobile division which has been floundering of late will be run however insiders are tipping a major overhaul of Telstra’s mobile business.

The exit of Vollard could see several new brands being sold at the big carrier as Vollard had earned a reputation for sticking to known brands and partnerships.

Vollard joined Telstra in 2008, prior to that he was Managing Director of Motorola’s mobile business in Australia.

Prior to Motorola he worked for Swedish Company Ericsson as head of Product Management.

Former Telstra staff who worked under Vollard claim the move to restructure the Telstra mobile network has “Been coming for months”.

“They have had major network problems. Their product is expensive and despite what Telstra say their customer service operation is a major problem” said a 10 year Telstra veteran.
