BREAKING NEWS: Samsung Snares Top Fisher & Paykel Executive To Revive Consumer Division
Samsung Australia has bolstered its Consumer Electronics division with the appointment of Jeremy Sargeant as Head of Retail Sales.
Sargeant, formerly Chief Operating Officer at Fisher & Paykel, joins the business following the exit of Jeremy Senior, the company’s former Vice President of Consumer Products. He will work closely with Simon Howe, Director of Audio Visual, and Rachel Carter, Head of Department – Home Appliances, as part of Samsung’s senior leadership team.
The division, which has faced mounting pressure from fast-growing Chinese competitors, is currently led by Phil Gaut, Director of Consumer Electronics. Gaut, who transitioned into the role from Samsung’s B2B operations, is expected to place renewed focus on expanding that business while supporting the consumer retail leadership team.
Samsung said Sargeant brings strong retail and operational credentials, with a track record of delivering growth in highly competitive markets.
“Jeremy Sargeant is known across the industry as a dynamic leader and retail expert with a talent for positively disrupting the status quo to drive high-growth results,” said Gaut. “His experience in retail strategy will be instrumental in helping Samsung connect the dots between our high-performing products and the benefits they deliver to Australians as part of a connected ecosystem at home.”
Sargeant’s remit will span TVs, audio, refrigeration, laundry, floor care, and cooking appliances, with a focus on creating best-in-class retail and training experiences.
His appointment follows the recent arrivals of Rachel Carter and Jessica Valiukas, Head of Product – Home Appliances, signalling a broader reshaping of Samsung’s consumer leadership team in Australia.
