Kurt Bonnici who spearheaded the rapid growth of Motorola’s mobile business is being replaced with a former Samsung executive.

Bonnici (Seen above) Nhas been promoted to head Motorola’s GTAP Strategy and Business Operations in the region, with Praveena Raman joining Motorola as Country Manager (seen below).

Praveena has spent the past five years at Samsung, most recently as Head of Carrier Sales.

Prior to joining Samsung, she held senior roles at Lycamobile and Optus.

During his tenure Kurt Bonnici delivered impressive business growth, when others before him failed.

His predecessor Danny Adamopoulos had previously struggled to grow the business after choosing a strategy of only delivering cheap budget models. He left the business suddenly in 2021.

Today Motorola is the third largest smartphone vendor in Australia according to IDC data.

The appointment of Praveena will see him join forces with Motorola’s Head of Marketing, Danielle Hoppitt, who joined Motorola from Samsung in July 2023.
