BluOS To Get Google Assistant Update

High-res audio products running BluOS will soon receive support for voice commands through Google Assistant, joining Amazon Alexa on the platform.

The Lenbrook Group, which owns BlueSound and NAD Electronics, said a Google Assistant update will become available for BluOS devices from October 8.

It comes as Lenbrook faces accusations it violated patents belonging to Sonos in developing its BlueSound multi-room wireless audio platform.

Lenbrook distributed Sonos products in Canada in 2007 and 2008, before releasing BlueSound in 2013.

Sonos had reportedly been using these patents to pressure the likes of Amazon and Google to make their digital voice assistants available on the platform.
