Nokia’s New Hero: 5″ Full HD, 20Mp Camera + Quad-Core

NokiaUnder the bonnet, the new Nokia Lumia 930 has a 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 4G LTE/3G, and built-in wireless charging, as featured on previous premium Lumia’s.

Widely hailed as the best Microsoft Windows operated phone yet, it definitely looks the part – made of sculpted glass, Corning Gorilla Glass and stands tall at 5 inches with a super sensitive, bright touch screen. It will be available in orange, black, white or lime green.
The camera is a massive feature on Nokia’s new flagship – a 20MP PureView Dual-LED Flash, and the world’s first Dolby Digital Plus surround sound recording on 1080p, and ZEISS optics.
The second camera also has Full HD capabilities.
Lumia 930 will be at all ‘Big 3’ telcos – Telstra, Optus and Vodafone, and is to be released this month, costing $729 outright also available at retailers. No plans have been released yet.

However, Telstra is flogging a free a JBL PowerUp speaker (worth $389.95) with all pre orders.

Other exclusive Nokia content includes Nokia MixRadio preinstalled, Internet Explorer 11 and location services including HERE Drive+, HERE Maps, HERE Transit.
The glossy Lumia 930 also has the usual connections: USB 2.0, Bluetooth,  2GB RAM, 32GB  memory and 7GB of free OneDrive cloud storage.
It has new features like Word Flow keyboard, which swipes through letters for faster typing, and Action Centre, which puts your notifications and customisable quick settings in one place.
Unlike previous Lumia models you can customise the Windows 8.1 tiles on the home screen.
Stats released this week suggest Apple and Android account for 93% of all smartphones in Australia – but lack of devices on the Windows platform slowed its growth potential, say analysts Telsyte. But with more Windows devices like the 930, this may well change.
