Asus Reveals RTX 50 Laptop GPU Power Specs
Asus has become the first brand to publicly disclose complete GPU power specifications for its 2025 lineup of ROG and TUF gaming laptops, offering long-awaited transparency around Nvidia’s RTX 50-series mobile graphics chips.
Posted on the company’s website, the detailed breakdown outlines Total Graphics Power (TGP) figures across all mobile RTX 50 GPUs, including the flagship RTX 5090 down to the entry-level RTX 5050.
Power limits range from 75W to 175W depending on the model and thermal capacity of the laptop.
Flagship ROG Strix Scar models equipped with RTX 5090, 5080, and 5070 Ti GPUs will run at the full 175W TGP, ensuring maximum performance.
Meanwhile, more compact or mid-tier models like the TUF A18, A16, and ultraportable Zephyrus G14 will run certain GPUs at reduced wattages due to size and cooling limitations – with the Zephyrus G14 capping the RTX 5080 at 120W.

The move is a response to growing consumer frustration over vague or missing GPU specs, particularly since Nvidia’s 30- and 40-series mobile GPUs allowed wide performance variation under the same GPU name.
Until now, buyers had to rely on third-party reviews or dig into hidden documentation to understand performance differences.
Asus’ decision gives gamers clearer insight into thermal performance, expected frame rates and system cooling across models.
For performance-conscious buyers, TGP can significantly affect in-game performance, especially at high resolutions or with ray tracing enabled.
With competition heating up ahead of the RTX 50-series launch, Asus’ proactive disclosure could pressure other OEMs to follow suit.
