The doughnut-shaped Apple headquarters in Cupertino, California, has been valued at US$4.17 billion, making it one of the world’s most expensive buildings.
The intricately designed ring incorporates treated glass and specially designed tiles, and is surrounded by pines from the Mojave desert. The headquarters cost $5bn to construct. In contrast, the world’s tallest building, the Burj Kalifa in Dubai, cost $1.5 billion.
