Another Senior Executive Quits Powermove

Powermove has lost another senior executive with former Harvey Norman executive Nigel Dent quitting the struggling South Australian based distributor.

Dent who was General Manager at Powermove is at this stage is not saying where he is going.

During his time with the Company he was responsible for bringing on board the Toshiba TV brand which being sold at Harvey Norman.

During the past 18 months Powermove has lost several cornerstone brands including Klipsch and Gibson Brand related products.

Currently the retailer is selling out old Philips audio and Pioneer stock with neither brand launching new products this year. This week we revealed that Gibson Brands is set to come out of bancruptcy on November 1.

During the past six months several senior management and sales staff have either been retrenched or have quite Powermove who are currently still listing Philips lighting, Altec Lansing audio, BooQ bags & Accessories and Motorola products on their web site.

According to Dent who is an experienced executive who was former National Channel Manager at Panasonic and General Manager of AV at Harvey Norman he is currently negotiating with a leading Company who he describes as being able to deliver the “financial security” he is looking for.
