Commodore 64 Re-Release Coming In December

The classic Commodore 64, pre-loaded with 64 games and coming with a working keyboard and classic joystick, is being re-released and will hit markets on December 5 for $199.95.

Connecting straight to your smart TV via HDMI cable, the new C64 will have three modes – the original C64 Basic, the VIC20 Basic, and the Games Carousel and will be available from the Retro Games website.

It comes with HDMI support for 720p (50Hz or 60Hz) output to a TV, and the re-release has some new games from the recently released C64 mini.

Users also have the ability to load their own games and files through a USB-A port and the unit runs off a 2 amp 1.2m USB AC adapter.

“We are delighted to be working with Koch Media once more to bring back even more of the most loved retro games ever on two of the most iconic home computers of all time, and which now has a full working keyboard,” Paul Andrews, Retro Games’ managing director, told Tech Guide.

“The C64 full size is a re-imagining of the classic C64 computer and the second in a planned series of products on the way.”
