Android Auto Debuts Google Assistant In Australia

Recent reports reveal that Google Assistant is now available on Android Auto-equipped cars in Australia – earlier than expected.

According to Ausdroid a representative from Kenwood mentioned the feature would launch in Australia in March.

The news comes after Google announced it would be integrating ‘full’ Google Assistant to its Android Auto in-car operating platform.

At current, reports state Google Assistant functionality within Android Auto is comparatively less equipped than on phones and Google Home devices.

However, Google states it plans to increase the Assistant’s functionality in time, to provide uniformity across its product types.

Users who have signed up for the beta version of the Google Play Services app, will now be able to access Google Assistant in their cars via Android Auto.

Ausdroid tested the functionality, and affirmed that answers were generally locally specific.

Users can call upon Google to listen to the news, set reminders, play music and more.

Individuals who want to receive Google Assistant on Android Auto, can sign up for Google Play Services beta here.
