German supermarket giant, ALDI, has jumped into the appliance market, by unveiling a portable washing machine for $99.99 as part of its February 9 ‘Special Buys’ sale.
The washing machine joins several other camping and outdoor items, including a portable BBQ ($89.99), 170W caravan solar panel ($169/kit), thermal cooker ($99.99) and 800mL collapsible kettle ($29.99).
Also launching on February 9 is a 21.5-inch Full HD TV with built-in DVD player and included 12V car adaptor. With a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, the TV will sell for $159.
Accompanying a one year warranty, the portable washing machine features a top loading twin hub and spinner. With a bottom mounted agitator, the washer offers both a washing and spin cycle with a timer.
The washer claims to boast “quiet operation”, with a 2 kilogram wash and spin capacity.
Measuring 56(W) x 36(D) x 65(H)cm, the portable washer accompanies a 240V AC adaptor and a self-draining drop down hose.
The portable BBQ features a half grill and hotplate, with piezo ignition plus hose and regular.
The BBQ incorporates foldable shelves and legs, accompanied by a one year warranty.
