ALDI Take On Bunnings With $299 Inverter Plasma Cutter

ALDI has sought to re-define the local supermarket, with the unveiling of several heavy-duty hardware items usually sold from retailers such as Bunnings – e.g. a 35amp Inverter Plasma Cutter for $299.

Appealing to home renovators, the DIY hardware items will land in stores on Saturday April 20 as part of ALDI’s ‘Special Buys’ sale. As per norm, “limited stock” is available.

The Inverter Plasma Cutter accompanies a three year warranty, and offers a cutting capacity of up to 10mm, coupled with thermal overload protection.

With duty cycle 15% at 35amp, the product claims to be ideal for cutting steel and non-ferrous material. The device includes a 5m plasma torch and 1.2m earth cable.

Also joining the Inverter Plasma Cutter on April 20 is a Retractable Air Hose Reel ($49.99) – a 9m sprint-loaded hose with automatic lock and retract mechanism.

With a maximum pressure of 20bar/300psi, the device offers a 3m fixed hose to connect to an air compressor.

ALDI has also unveiled a 2.0HP Air Compressor 50L ($129), which claims to be $20 cheaper than when ranged in-store last year.

The air compressor offers a large 50L air reserve, 2hp motor and a maximum pressure of 115psi/8bar.

Boasting 1500W of power, the air compressor accompanies a 5 year warranty.

Also joining the DIY products on April 20 is an air spay gun ($19.99), air inflator kit ($14.99), air demolition breaker 5-in-1 ($149) and air nail/staple gun ($29.99).
