Albanese’s Personal Number Leaked Online
The personal phone number of Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has been leaked on a US-based website, alongside other Australian politicians and world leaders.
The leak includes contact details for Opposition Leader Sussan Ley, former Prime Minister Scott Morrison, NSW Premier Chris Minns, and international leaders such as US President Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron.
The site reportedly uses AI to scrape the internet, including social media platforms and professional profiles, to compile personal contact information into a digital database.
Journalists from Ette Media shared a video of them calling Albanese and Ley, which both go to voicemail. “Hi, you’ve rung Anthony Albanese. If this is a personal call, leave a message,” the prime minister can be heard saying.
Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles confirmed Parliament House is aware of the breach. “We’ve notified authorities, and that is being worked through, but obviously, there is concern,” he said.

A spokesperson for Ley said her office had contacted LinkedIn to understand the source of the data and requested the website remove the information.
LinkedIn has denied any breach, stating that third-party scraping of member data is prohibited.
The leak is not an isolated incident. In 2017, private numbers for hundreds of MPs, senators, and staffers were inadvertently published on the Parliament House website after a data cleanup error.
Security services have been directed to investigate the current breach, as authorities work to remove the sensitive information and protect high-profile politicians from unwanted contact.
The website offers an opt-out form, with profiles removed within a week of request, although some numbers appear to be inaccurate.
Ette Media said the AI scraper collected details for hundreds of millions of people globally, including several Australian media executives.
