Acer Gets Ready For School With New Chromebooks, TravelMate Laptops
School is back in Australia, and Acer has today announced its latest additions to the TravelMate series of Windows 11 Education laptops, as well as four new Chromebooks – also aimed at students.
At the top end of the pile is the Acer TravelMate B5 14, which boasts up to 12th-generation Intel Core i3-N305 processors, and up to 9 hours of battery life.
It comes with Wi-Fi 6E connectivity, and considering the rough and tumble nature of school, it thankfully features, a spill-resistant keyboard, reinforced IO ports, and a shock-absorbent bumper that protects from drops of up to 1.2 metres.
The TravelMate B3 series has added two models: TravelMate B3 Spin 11 (pictured below) and the TravelMate B3 11.
The main difference between the two is the Spin 11 model has an optional 11.6-inch FHD touch display, with Antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glass. The TravelMate B3 Spin 11 has up to 10 hours of battery life, while the TravelMate B3 11 tops out at 9.5 hours of use.
Acer has also launched four new Chromebooks, including its first Acer Chromebook Vero model designed specifically for the education market (pictured below).
The Acer Chromebook Vero 712 features a 3:2 aspect ratio on a 12-inch HD+ IPS display, and 12th Gen Intel Core processor. The 3:2 ratio gives 18 per cent more vertical space, which is necessary given the vertical nature of the internet, and many schooling tools, such as maps and photos.
The other three Chromebooks are updated models: the Acer Chromebook Spin 512 convertible with a 12-inch display; Acer Chromebook Spin 511 convertible with an 11.6-inch display; and the Acer Chromebook 511 clamshell with an 11.6-inch display.
All of these machines are powered by the latest Intel Processor N100 and N200, and have an option to include 4G LTE connectivity.
