Samsung Brings New S22 Camera Features To Older Phones

Samsung is rolling out a number of new camera software features introduced in the Galaxy S22 series to its older Galaxy smartphones.

The OneUI 4.1 update will be bringing various S22 camera features to its range of flagships.

The Galaxy S21, S20, Galaxy Note 20 lineup, and the Galaxy Z series range, including the Z Fold 2 and Z Flip 5G, are receiving Galaxy S22’s Nitography technology. The ability to adjust lighting position in portrait mode will also come to the above phones, with the exception of the S20.

The mode that recognises pets and adjusts accordingly will come to Galaxy S21, S21 FE, S20 FE, and the Galaxy Z Flip 5G alongside the Flip 2, Fold 2, Fold 3, and Flip 3, as well as the Galaxy Note 20.

The telephoto lens on the Galaxy S21, Z Fold 3 and Galaxy S21 FE will now shoot portrait videos, allowing close-ups of people in the distance.

Telephoto lens support is added to pro mode on the Galaxy S21 Ultra, will plans to roll out these features for the Z Fold 3, Galaxy S20 Ultra, Note 20 Ultra and Z Fold 2 in a future update slated for late 2022.

All in all, this is a good sign that Samsung isn’t abandoning support for users of its older models as it continues to roll out new products in 2022.
