Streaming Via 4G: Vodafone And Spotify Team Up
Vodafone states the partnership is designed to broaden its appeal beyond smartphone plans to deliver ‘unique offerings’, utilising its 4G network.
Spotify, accessible via smartphones, computers, tablets and compatible home entertainment systems, markets itself as a digital music service, providing users access to millions of tracks. Vodafone prepaid and postpaid customers will be able to access the service, with details to be announced in the coming weeks. A standalone Spotify Premium account currently costs $11.99 a month. “Vodafone’s 4G network is set to reach 95 per cent of Australia’s metropolitan population by the end of the year and we want to give our customers the best possible 4G experience,” commented Vodafone general manager of postpaid Stephen Smyth. “Our partnership with Spotify really brings our 4G network to life. With our great value plans and generous data allowances, our customers will be able to make the most of Spotify Premium, which offers the ability to stream, find and share music on demand, on any device, completely ad-free.” Spotify managing director for Australia and New Zealand Kate Vale stated she is “excited about the partnership bringing more music to more Australians”. “Vodafone Australia’s world-class 4G network, coupled with Spotify Premium, will provide music lovers with unrivalled offers that will be game changing,” Vale commented. |
