Apple Facing Two Flops, Music And Watch, As Consumers Give Both Products The Flick

Apple Facing Two Flops, Music And Watch, As Consumers Give Both Products The Flick

This means that Apple could be facing two flops in a row as they move sales of their Apple watch from Apple stores to mass retailers such as JB Hi Fi and Harvey Norman.

Last month Apple Music boss Eddy Cue was bragging about racking up 11 million subscribers the only problem is that 48% of the free subscribers have switch off according to a new survey by Music Watch.

Apple recently rebranded the iTunes Music Festival to now be called the Apple Music Festival, Pharrell Williams, One Direction and Florence + The Machine are going to appear at the event next month.

The musicians will be among the headlining performers at the 10-night festival at London’s Roundhouse that begins Sept. 19 one day after Apple is tipped to launch a new iPhone 6S

Past performers have included Adele, Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake and Elton John.

The new survey reveals that Apple is now facing two uphill struggles to breathe life into their latest product offerings.

MusicWatch surveyed 5,000 current subscribers and found, six weeks into the trial, a whopping 48 per cent of sign-ups aren’t even listening to Apple Music anymore.

61 per cent of those people surveyed have already turned off the auto-renewal option in iTunes.

Observers claim that if all of those ‘likely’ subscribers followed through, Apple would be left with around 7 million paying customers, a number sure to satisfy Cue and company.

Spotify continues to set the standard for paying customers with 20 million of its 60 million plus users handing over a monthly fee for a Premium subscription.

The survey also revealed that 77 per cent of iOS users in the United States knew about Apple Music, but only 11 per cent are signed up.

This suggests those users are happy with other providers such as Deezer, Spotify or Pandora.

30 per cent of Apple Music streamers are currently listening to the Beats 1 radio station, which doesn’t sound like such a bad return all things considered.

In other Apple news it appears that the release date for the new iPhone 6S is 18 September 2015.

Apple is expected to launch two new iPhones at its September event – the iPhone 6S and a phablet-sized iPhone 6S Plus.

There have also been rumours about a 4in iPhone 6C being in the works, although the leaks have been conflicting. The leak came from a German phone carrier.

It’s worth noting that Germany is a first-tier launch country for Apple and, as such, will be one of the first to receive the next iPhone.

Other first-tier countries include Australia, Canada, France, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, the UK and the US – and perhaps China this time around.

As such, those countries are also likely to receive the iPhone 6S on 18 September.
