New HP Desktops With B&O Sound Set To Take On Lenovo + Acer

The US Company who has been reeling from falling profits and internal politics has said that they will introduce three new Pavilion all-in-one (AiO) models all of which can be upgraded to Windows 10, all of the new models will feature Bang & Olufsen-branded audio after HP was dumped by Beats which is now owned by arch rival Apple. 

At this stage it is not known which models Australian retails will choose to range.

The Pavilion, Envy and Envy Phoenix series feature a new vertical design that has access ports at the front instead of the back they also support dual 1080p monitors.  


The line-up includes three new FullHD touchscreen PC’s, including the company’s first 27-inch model.

The 21.5, 23 inch and 27-inch models all have optional discrete graphics processors and a new “floating” pedestal display that can be adjusted for height. 

With the 21.5- and 23-inch models touchscreen capability is optional, while touchscreen is standard in the 27-inch model.

Storage options range from a 3TB HDD, and system memory options of 4GB, 8GB, 12GB, or 16GB. 

Processor options range from Intel’s fourth-generation Celeron processors, Intel Core i3 through i7 processors, and next-generation AMD A10 and A8 processors.

There is even a white polka dot design model.


In an effort to compete with the new Acer gaming PC’s HP is introducing a new gaming model that comes in a new vertical design in brushed aluminium.

 A liquid cooling option isn’t new, but overclocking is. RAID storage is also an option.

The tower includes at least two USB 2.0 ports, up to four USB 3.0 ports, HDMI, DVI, VGA and 7-in-1 media card reader. It also comes with dual-monitor support and wireless keyboard and mouse.

HP’s also releasing the Spectre Studio Display, a 32-inch monitor with a 3,840 x 2,160 resolution (UHD 4K). The screen has a 178-degree viewing angle and upscaling technology to convert HD, full HD and QuadHD content into 4K.
In addition to lots of pixels, the display also has powerful sound: 6-watt dual front-facing speakers and two rear passive radiators.
The 4K display comes with an HDMI 2.0 and HDMI 1.4 port with MHL, and a USB port.
Picture-in-picture (PiP) allows you to overlay one video channel on top of another in the corner, and picture-by-picture (PbP) displays two video channels side-by-side.
