Jawbone Teaming Up With AmEx For Mobile Payments

Jawbone Teaming Up With AmEx For Mobile PaymentsThe Wall Street Journal has reported the two companies will this week announce that AmEx card holders will soon be able to use Jawbone fitness accessories to make payments at certain merchants, citing sources familiar with the plan.

The move follows the trend towards enabling mobile payments, with Apple last year launching its Apple Pay service, which is available on the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, and which will be available on the upcoming Apple Watch. Samsung, also, plans to launch its Samsung Pay service mid-year.

The payment service for Jawbone won’t be part of Jawbone’s upcoming UP3 fitness band, however will be available on a future offering, according to a person familiar with the matter, the WSJ reported.
