Sennheiser Pilots Interactive Point-Of-Sale At JB HiFi

Sennheiser Pilots Interactive Point-Of-Sale At JB HiFi

The new demonstration unit features a unique interactive panel that encourages exploration and engagement, as well as a jewellery-like display case that for the first time allows earbuds to be showcased and examined, which Sennheiser says is typically hard to display well.
The unit features six live demonstration headphones for customers to try on, all powered by individual high-quality headphone amplifiers.
The Company says customers can then select from a wide range of tracks and genres, so they can listen to music they like and are familiar with when making their selection, rather than just a narrow range of insipid demo tracks.

The digital unit also features a browsable catalogue, which allows customers to see details on all the Sennheiser headphones in the JB HiFi range, including key features, images and colour variants.

Even ‘box shots’ are included to help consumers locate their desired headphones on the display, something that is also aided by new categorisation and ticketing.
The Company says one of the most innovative aspects of the new digital unit is the ‘Find my Sennheiser’ feature.
This allows potential customers to answer two or three questions about how the headphones are to be used, and what features are important.
The software powering the interactive display suggests which headphone in the Sennheiser’s range would best suit.
The Company says reaction to the new units has been “very positive”, with JB HiFi store staff commenting that they have “already seen a sales lift in Sennheiser headphones since the units were installed.”

Daniel Woodall, Sennheiser Australia’s Marketing Manager said: “It’s very exciting to be partnering with JB HiFi to deliver this category-redefining new POS concept, and to see the positive consumer reaction. We can’t wait to roll it out to more stores in the coming months!’

The new point-of-sale units have been installed in three JB HiFi stores: Sydney Galleries, Melbourne Chadstone and Melbourne Bourke St.
This comes ahead of a planned wider roll-out.
