The new device will be launched globally on April 29th, with invitations sent out to an event in Singapore.

The invitation asks invitees  to “Kapture the Moment,” which could be related to a rumor that Samsung is not only looking to reveal the Zoom version of the Galaxy S5, but it could be offered as a new product line and under the name “Galaxy K” instead.

The teaser image has the letter ‘K’ printed in large fonts, which suggests that the alleged Galaxy S5 Zoom might be dubbed Galaxy K Zoom.
In-line with the teaser image, a publication has claimed that the Samsung Galaxy K Zoom is the South Korean giant’s next mobile and camera hybrid device.

Similar to the way it produced the Galaxy S4 Zoom, the Galaxy K will effectively be a smartphone with more of a focus on the rear camera.
It is said to use an improved 20.2-megapixel camera with a 10x optical zoom, optical image stabilization, and Xenon flash.

The mobile device will also apparently skimp on the display compared to the Galaxy S5, with a 4.8-inch 720p Super AMOLED screen touted, though it is said to have a still-respectable Exynos 5 Hexa processor, 2GB of RAM, and Android KitKat onboard.

It is unclear why exactly Samsung would want to change from the established naming convention for this device. It is possible that Samsung may be releasing it under its own name because it differs too much from the Galaxy S5, warranting the name change, though this does give Samsung the option of creating another smartphone under the S5 Zoom name in the future.
