Plantronics Launches Wireless Gaming Headset With 24-Hour Battery

Plantronics have launched a new series of wireless gaming headsets for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 with up to 24-hours of battery life.

The enhanced battery of the RIG 800 series is equipped with quick-charging, with a 30-minute charge providing enough battery for 1.5 hours of gaming. Plantronics said that the RIG series of products are designed to meet the needs and preferences of gamers.

“At Plantronics, we understand the importance of providing gamers with tangible benefits that make them better players,” Plantronics ANZ director of gaming products Peter Petrides said.

“The RIG 800 series is designed for superior wireless performance and unmatched playtime combined with lightweight comfort and precision controls. As gamers ourselves, we strive to develop products for a whole range of player styles and needs. This is reflected in our extensive line-up of RIG headsets,” Mr Petrides said.

Two products make up the RIG 800 series: the RIG 800HX for Xbox One, and the RIG 800HS, compatible with the PlayStation 4 and developed specifically for PlayStation VR. Both are lightweight and engineered for a comfortable fit, with memory-foam ear cushions increasing sound isolation for immersive gameplay.

High performance audio is provided by amplified 40mm drivers, and low frequency resonators reinforce bass while limiting distortion.  The noise cancelling microphone improves audio quality, and can be muted by simply flipping it up.

Both products also feature a modular design that can be configured and adjusted depending on the preferences of each individual.

Plantronic’s RIG 800HX for Xbox One and RIG 800HS for PlayStation 4 are available from JB Hi-Fi and EB Games for RRP $249.95.
