Oz Satellite Group To Link With Branson’s Virgin Galactic

Australian-listed mini-satellite communications outfit Sky and Space Global is expected to announce a “strategic partnership” with Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic, which still plans to take tourists (including Australian online retailer Ruslan Kogan) into space – though the project has been facing long delays.

Trading in Sky and Space Global shares has been halted on the ASX until Monday, pending official announcement of the partnership. The shares, which first listed on the ASX in May, last sold at 2.3 cents apiece on the ASX, after reaching 3.2c on June 8.

Sky and Space Global plans to launch “affordable narrow-band communication networks based on proprietary nano-satellites systems” targeting equatorial belt countries. Initial launch is planned for mid-2017
