Huawei To Unveil Gear S3 Rival At MWC

Alongside the already-teased P10 smartphone, reports say Chinese player Huawei will also be bringing a new smartwatch to next week’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

As originally leaked by Evan Blass over at VentureBeat, the new wearable will feature a sportier metalic look with a 1.4-inch display.

The other big selling point for the device looks to be cellular connectivity, which Huawei look to be banking on to help inspire interest in consumers who have soured on the smartwatch market in recent years.

“With no must-have use case emerging for multifunctional smartwatches,” Juniper Research recently scaled back its earlier estimates for market growth, anticipating less than 60 million smartwatches in circulation by 2021.

Rival LG is also expected to debut a pair of new smartwatches at the event.
