BREAKING NEWS Top HP Consumer Executive Quits To Join Lenovo

The move to hire Lau an experienced consumer PC executive comes as Lenovo moves to expand their consumer presence in Australia.

ChannelNews has been told that Lau was walked out of Hewlett Packard last night.

Currently Hewlett Packard is the #1 consumer PC brand in Australia, however this is under threat with Lenovo who are the #1 PC brand in the world set to release what has been described as a “stunning” range of consumer products in Australia.

Retailers such as JB Hi Fi are set to range the Lenovo products in prime positions.

Last year Hewlett Packard were fined $3M for misleading consumers over their warranty rights, they are also struggling to deliver competitive products in the tablet and smartphone markets and their range of clam shell notebooks are seen as tired and lacking the design flair found in the Lenovo range of consumer products that have stripped share away from Hewlett Packard in the US and European markets.

Lau was not available to comment.
