Build Lego On Google?

Google Australia has been working with Lego, to see what “would happen if we brought bricks to the browser” and have come up with a 3D “build” program.

Build lets Googlers create online 3D Lego creations and has a massive eight trillion bricks for you and your mates to play around with.

But Building Lego would not have been possible a few years ago, Google Australia wrote on a blog, and will be released Down Under first.

“Build may look simple, but this collaborative 3D building experience would not have been possible a couple of years ago,” writes Lockey McGrath, Google Australia.

“It shows how far browser technology has come and how the web is an amazing platform for creativity.”

The lego bricks are mad with WebGL graphics, and Google Maps (also an Aussie invention) is also used to showcase Lego creations from around the world.

“We loved it as kids, and we still love it now. Visit any Google office, you’re going to see LEGO bricks all over the place.”

(But without the mess on the floor)
