Facebook Messenger Adds Apple Music And Spotify Compatibility

Announced earlier today at the company’s F8 conference, Facebook now plans to add more comprehensive support for third party applications like content streaming services to its Facebook Messenger app.

Facebook Messenger is a pretty crucial part of the tech giant’s business, boasting over 1.2 billion users as of this month.

Speaking at the conference, Facebook’s David Marcus revealed that, among other things, Messenger users will now be able to share Spotify and Apple Music content from within the app, rather than having to jump over to the music streaming services installed on your phone.

“When I said that music on Messenger was going to be a thing I really meant it,” he said.

Interestingly, Facebook says that the new feature will launch with Spotify first, with Apple Music integration due later down the line.
