Shown at the CEDIA Expo in Denver the new SpeakerLinX SL254 is capable of powering two speakers that are configured to handle NetStreams' audio-over-IP technology.
At the core of NetStreams offering is patented technology that allow audio devices to remain almost perfectly in synch, irrelvent of the distance from the source. Latency from zone to zone is imperceptible, meaning no irritating echoes that plague traditional IP-based audio solutions.
In an interview with CE PRO in the USA NetStreams CTO Michael Braithwaite claimed that many top manufacturers have announced StreamNet-Ready speakers that connect directly to NetStreams' DigiLinX multiroom audio system. From the SpeakerLinx module, the Cat 5 cable "connects directly to the driver, It bypasses the speaker's passive elements." said Braithwaite.
Among the Companies using NetStreqam technology are Triad, Sonance, Polk and Atlantic Technologies.
