GFK said that with the acquisition at the beginning of May of a strategic minority stake of just under 8% in the French company Qosmos, GfK AG has strengthened its commitment to the Retail and Technology sector. Qosmos, which specializes in Information Extraction and Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) technology, is among the market leaders in its field.

Qosmos designs, develops and markets software and appliances that offer the ability to extract, in real time, business critical information travelling over IP networks with high accuracy and reliability. The company's products are based on a unique and patented Information Extraction and DPI technology that handles an ever-increasing number of IP protocols and applications, and extract valuable content from information flows, providing in-depth analysis of network services, applications and usages.
