By David Richards | Wednesday | 12/03/2008

Pioneer Australia who are determined to be a premium display and home entertainment brand are considering the setting up of either their own retail location or a store within a store concept. Highly successful overseas the move if acted upon will be done in partnership with reseller partners claims Pioneer Australia Managing Director Yasuo Sakuma.

In China Pioneer already have 150 branded Pioneer shops and in one SmartHouse recently visited in Orange County California Pioneer were displaying Hi Fi systems, home theatre kits, display as well as high end in car entertainment equipment.

The move to Pioneer branded stores in the US was initiated in 2003 said Mr Sakuma. "This was done to help build the Pioneer brand. We are currently reviewing marketing options in Australia and Pioneer branded shops are just one option that we are considering".

"Because of our heritage we are able to deliver high quality vision sound and home entertainment very few vendors can do this based on their heritage and audio market background. Sony can but the likes of Yamaha and Marantz and other premium home theatre players are only in one side of the market" said Mr Sakuma.
