Channel 7 Wins On News But Loses On Sport

By Branko Miletic | Monday | 16/06/2008

According to Channel 7, Seven News is up 337,000 viewers on Nine News, a 27 per cent audience advantage, with the its news program the most-watched program on television on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

However this week, the broadcaster lost out to Channel 9 as Wednesday's most-watched program was the State of origin Rugby League clash.

And following their loss in the Corby defamation case last week, the Today Tonight team finally has something to smile about with its viewer share up 164,000 viewers on A Current Affair, a 13 per cent audience advantage.

Also Seven scores 5 of the top 10 and 10 of the top 20 programs for total viewers, with Home and Away beating Channel 10, with 43 per cent more viewers than Big Brother.
And Seven has also come out on top in breakfast television. Sunrise is up 32 per cent on Today in total viewers (and up 57% on Today in all viewers under 55) and in a clear indication that Channel 9's new format Sunday program has been a flop, Weekend Sunrise is up 266,000 viewers on Sunday, a massive 222 per cent audience increase.
