Amazon To Start Selling $100 Laptops Soon

By Branko Miletic | Friday | 05/09/2008

According to UK website PC Adviser and Slashdot.com, the so-called $US 100 laptop from the US-based One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) program will be available via Amazon.com as of November.

The cheap laptop will be available under OLPC's Give One, Get One program, under which a person pays for two of the XO laptops - one to keep and one that's donated to a child in a developing country, according to the report.

Amazon will offer the XO laptop in the US only from November, although there has been no indication from Amazon just yet as to whether this program will be extended globally in 2009.

There is also no word on what OS, specs or architecture the laptops will have.
