Telstra Posts Healthy Profit & Expects More Growth

Telstra has reported a profit after tax of $3.7 billion for the year ended 30 June 2008, an increase of 13.5 per cent.

In line with this profit surge, Telstra has raised its forecasts for 2010 to between 3 per cent and 4 per cent growth in annual revenue and 3 per cent to 3.5 per cent growth in earnings.

Sales revenue grew 6.1 per cent in the Consumer & Channels business and 8.6 per cent in Telstra Business services and 3G services drove mobile data growth of 44 per cent or about 20,000 wireless broadband subscribers per month.

Sensis for its part grew its revenue by some 8.1 per cent to a total of $2.1 billion for 2008.
