This was underlined at this years IFA in Berlin, where
Panasonic has been exhibiting their so-called ?NeoPDP' technology, which is claimed to be a ?high luminance efficiency' technology that "will pave the way for the deepest blacks seen on any TV, allowing for the production of ultra thin panels while cutting power consumption by over 50 per cent", according to the report.
Furthermore at IFA,
Panasonic rolled out a 65-inch Plasma screen based on this same ?NeoPDP' technology and which apparently weighs less than 30 kg and is set to be on retailers' shelves within 12 months.
According to DisplaySearch, sales of LCD TVs jumped 30 per cent from last quarter, while plasma TV sales were up 35 per cent.
