The Company has also said that they will later this year roll out a major TV campaign for the Harmony remote range which can be programmed to eliminate multiple remote controls.
The Transporter is a network music player aimed squarely at the audiophile music market. It's built to standard A/V rack specifications and has plenty of bells and whistles that differentiate it from the competition. The Transporter also has high-end components, a world clock for perfect time synchronising and an RS-232 port for integration into a home theatre setup.
Logitech sales manager distribution Rod Caust said "We believe that both the Transporter and the Harmony remote are perfect products for the specialist channel and while we distribute into the mass market via Ingram Micro we are keen to look at appointing a specialist distributor as both these products need to be integrated into a network and the custom installer whether it's in the CE market or the Pro AV market can make money from these products. We have spoken to a couple of specialist distributors however we are keen to talk to others that distribute into the specialist markets" he said".
Currently Logitech is on a massive growth curve with the Harmony remote business growing by over 100% this year.
At a reseller awards function last night Logitech said that overall in the first quarter of 2008 their business grew by 56% and that they anticipate further growth this year despite a slow down in the economy.
