By Branko Miletic | Tuesday | 26/08/2008

Sony has rolled out three new network-based video security cameras in its ExwavePRO range at Security 2008, claimed to be the first cameras on the market to comply with the new industry standard interface agreement, announced in May 2008, by market leaders Sony, Bosch and Axis.

Each camera incorporates an advanced progressive scan CCD with ExwavePRO technology, which unlike conventional progressive CCD cameras, adds a complimentary colour filter.

The resultant is clear and detailed images for surveillance monitoring applications, even in dimly lit environments.
In addition, Sony's ?Light Funnel' technology increases sensitivity levels by reducing the resolution under low light conditions, creating brighter images to capture more detailed footage of moving objects at night.

By combining these features with 1.3 megapixel resolution for additional clarity and detail even at wide angles, the new cameras are designed for use at building entrances and parking lots where detailed images or faces and number plates are required.
