Telstra And NAB launch Wireless Mobile ATMs

By Branko Miletic | Monday | 21/04/2008

A new initiative between Telstra and the National Australia Bank (NAB) will allow the rapid deployment of ATMs into temporary locations without the need for connecting to physical communication lines.

These ATMs will be deployed at major motor sports and cultural events across Australia to provide convenient access to cash for the public.

Group Managing Director, Telstra Enterprise and Government, David Thodey, said Telstra's Next G network has been designed to provide companies with a wide range of seamless mobile connectivity solutions that offer reliability and flexibility - and this is now being taken advantage of by the financial services industry.

"The new ATMs powered by the Next G network were launched at Melbourne's recent International Flower Show and this follows a successful pilot at the Formula One Grand Prix that received very high customer uptake," Thodey said.
