Internode Doubles Download Quotas

By Mike Wheeler | Thursday | 07/08/2008

National broadband company Internode has doubled download quotas for its 1500 kilobits per second (k) ADSL broadband plans and is offering free speed upgrades to encourage customers to move from slower plans. This move comes not long after Telstra also increased its download rates on its mobile network.

During the month of August, Internode will automatically migrate most of its 1500k HOME and SOHO customers to the new plans.

Internode Product Manager Jim Kellett said 98 per cent of Internode's HOME and SOHO 1500k customers would get a free increase in download quotas. "The new plans give nearly all of our 1500k customers a quota boost of 5GB to 20GB per month with no increase in price," he said.

"We're also offering free speed upgrades to encourage customers on slower plans to move to a 1500k plan. At the same time, we have simplified our range of 1500k HOME and SOHO plans to make it easier for new customers to choose the broadband plan that best suits their needs."

Internode's simplified plan selection has pruned 16 plans to just six, ranging from a $49.95 HOME plan with a 10GB download allowance to an $89.95 SOHO plan with a 40GB download quota.
