The new Telstra Turbo 7 Series Wireless Gateway, which was developed in conjunction with NetComm is designed to combine three capabilities in one device ? a Next G mobile broadband connection, a secure Wi-Fi gateway and Ethernet connectivity.

Telstra Business Group Managing Director, Deena Shiff, said gateways could "be set up as needed for any temporary business requirement, for example at special events including roadshows, trade shows and festivals, or act as a crucial back-up for fixed line connections, allowing businesses to use their IT and operating systems anywhere there's power and coverage".

"Businesses can now take the network with them on customer visits, to trade and community events, or to temporary work locations like construction sites away from head office. This new device provides a cost effective and versatile way to overcome the need for fixed lines, such as at roadshows.

"The wireless gateway means businesses have access to a portable office-in-a-box solution that can boost productivity by sharing files, operating EFTPOS, accessing company intranet and databases and delivering services and products direct to the customer," Shiff said.
