Dell says it will take advantage of a licensing option in Vista Business and Vista Ultimate that lets PC makers provide XP under the Vista licence, or a 'downgrade' licence. In other words, the user will be buying a Vista licence that can apply to the XP operating system, and Microsoft can still claim a Vista sale. The 'downgrade' program will be available as an option at no charge on a number of Dell models.
