The How To Channel, an Australian home and garden network, "will premiere a selection of BBC Worldwide lifestyle content, having concluded a deal for 192 hours of first-run lifestyle programming. The new content includes To Buy or Not to Buy, Cash in the Attic and The Trees That Made Britain, along with other new and returning series", according to worldscreen.com.
Furthermore, XYZnetworks, which owns, operates and distributes eleven of the leading subscription television channels in Australia and is jointly owned by Foxtel and Austar, has licensed a total of 249 hours of lifestyle programs to broadcast on The LifeStyle Channel and LifeStyle Food.
Based in Sydney, XYZnetworks have 170 employees, with offices in North Ryde and North Sydney.
As for The LifeStyle Channel, it will premiere new episodes of continuing series Ready Steady Cook and Bargain Hunt, along with new series Paradise or Bust and Dumped, according to the report.
And in a move to further bolster its programming content, Foxtel has also purchased more than 110 hours of factual and entertainment programs to screen across The History Channel, Bio Channel, Crime & Investigation Network and The Comedy Channel.
Amber Knight, the head of TV sales for BBC Worldwide Australia, "To be able to provide this much content across varying genres speaks to the diversity of programming currently on offer on subscription television as well as the depth and breadth of the BBC Worldwide catalog", the report concluded.
