Panasonic Braces For TV Boom With New Roles

By Branko Miletic | Tuesday | 17/06/2008

In another sign that the home electronics market is in a steep growth phase, Panasonic Australia has announced that it has created the new position of ?Assistant Product Manager TV? and is currently recruiting for this role.

Furthermore, the company said that as of July 1, it will appoint Matt Pearce to the position of Product Manager, TV; while Sophie Barton will take up the role of Product Manager, DVD and Blu-ray.

Paul Reid, Director, Consumer Electronics Group, Panasonic Australia, said: "I'm pleased to offer new opportunities to these very capable product managers.  Matt's new position as product manager for the VIERA brand is a pivotal one within the company.  It is well deserved given his excellent work in introducing Australia's first Blu-ray Recorder to the market; and increasing market share for our DVD Recorder range".

"Sophie Barton is a valuable addition to the Home AV team, having worked consistently to rejuvenate and significantly grow Panasonic's market share in the Microwave Category since she joined the company", added Reid.

Both roles will report to Adam Roberts, Category Marketing Manager, Home AV and TV, Consumer Electronics Group.
