Vendors Thin On The Ground At CEDIA Expo

By David Richards | Thursday | 31/07/2008

CEDIA Expo on the Gold Cost has kicked off with several vendors shunning the event in favour of next year?s Expo which is set to be held in Sydney.

Several new products are on show from a world first home theatre projector from Sony to new Pronto and RCI remotes to invisible speaker systems to new retail display systems from both Samsung and Panasonic. HAL systems are showing a new media server system that range in price from $8,000 for a 3TB storage solution to $5,000 for a 1.5 TB system.

Future Automation Systems from the UK have partnered with Melbourne based Canohm to launch a new discrete panel system which allows a 50-inch screen to be mounted in a ceiling and then drop down when needed. It can also be integrated into a cabinet system.

At the show for the first time is Ingram Micro with several vendors including Sony, Netgear, Logitech and Belkin showing new gear.

More to follow.
