LG Raises Money For Ken Lee At Golf Benefit

By Sarah Falson | Wednesday | 06/02/2008

When electronics retailer Bing Lee teamed up with LG Electronics to sponsor the $125,000 LG Bing Lee Women?s New South Wales Open, which took place last month, the company donated a 50-inch plasma TV for fundraising benefits towards the late Ken Lee?s nominated charity.

The TV raised over $7,000 in a raffle, which has been donated to the former Bing Lee chairman's favoured charity, the Victor Chang Foundation, which will go towards study in heart research.

The Women's Open took place between 25 and 27 January at the Oatlands Golf Club in Sydney's north-west.

The sponsorship had great significance to both Bing Lee and LG as Oatlands Golf Club was the home club of Lee.

"His legacy will live on in the form of this tournament in addition to the many other events he supported," said a press comment from LG.

The winner of the 2008 LG Bing Lee Women's New South Wales Open was world-renowned women's golfing champion Laura Davis, followed by runner-up Sarah Oh.
