Samsung Australia is set to move into the Pro AV market with both large display solutions and new content management systems. Samsung Australia is set to move into the Pro AV market with both large display solutions and new content management systems. During the next week the Korean Company is set to announce that they have appointed 4 new distributors in an effort to take on the likes of Panasonic and NEC who already have established Pro AV display divisions.

Among the distributors appointed to sell the new Samsung Pro AV systems is Image Design Technology (IDT), Westan who recently started selling large scale Full HD video conference systems into Government and Corporate Australia and Brisbane based XIT.

At the recent CEDIA Expo on the Gold Coast the two biggest stands were for Samsung and Panasonic who solely displayed Pro AV display gear. The third largest stand by AMX also displayed content management software for hotels, clubs, pubs and commercial organisations.

Jo Serra the National Sales Manager in the Samsung IT Division said "Professional Pro AV display and related systems is new for Samsung Australia. We have some excellent technology including touch screen and large display systems and we will be launching them into the Australian market".
He added "During the past few weeks we have appointed four new distributors and we will be announcing them soon".

Mark Deer Jones the General Manager of Panasonics Pro AV division said "We welcome the competition. The category is in its infancy however retail TV is taking off along with IP educations in schools. Then there is the pubs, clubs and entertainment venues. We believe that there is a big enough market for two or three players".

Gerry Wilkins, the Managing Director at IDT and a long time player in the Pro AV market said "Several vendors are now looking at the Pro AV market. Samsung will do very well as they already have some excellent solutions and display technology".

He added "It is not just the display vendors who are targeting the Pro AV market it is the carriers like Telstra and the likes of Cisco who are delivering new end to end solutions for the distribution of content to the display devices".

Earlier this week IDT rolled out new Kortek high performance, low cost touch enabled LCD displays for the PRO AV market. They range in size from 32" to 70". The new Kortek touch enabled LCD Displays have high brightness and high resolution that deliver an eye-catching touch enabled display that are described as being "reasonably priced". They are ideal say IDT for gaming, hospitality, education, retail, corporate, government and several other applications.
Equipped with sensitive and reliable touch sensors, Kortek's interactive displays enable the panels to be used in many different applications such as Information Displays, Way Finders Interactive Whiteboards and as a Touch Interface to other devices.
